What a great looking door bell, definitely out of the norm. Just about everyone that has come to my front door has had a nice complement. Just because you are getting older you can still put a little spunk in your life with this fun Gecko, stop being so drab. This Gecko is not small, it's 4 in high, 2 in across and 1 inch deep. Make sure it will fit before you order it. The Gecko is solid and very well made. The push button is lit up, which is nice. If you live in Florida Gecko's are a way of life down here. they are everywhere. Which is a good thing because they help keep the bug's under control. My Kitty and I also agree they are fun to watch. And yes they do hang out on walls upside down looking for bugs. If you are not into Gecko's check out Company's Coming other door bells, they have quite a few really nice unusual ones. This bell is fairly easy to install just follow the steps below. NOTE::: No need to turn the power off. the voltage is extremely low you won't feel it.

1- Remove old bell and wires, pull a little extra wire out from wall.

2- From the back push, push button out of the Gecko

3- Run your wire through the back of the Gecko where the button was.

4- Screw wire ends on the two screws in back of button. ( Makes no difference which is which )

5- Press button back into Gecko.

6- Push extra wire back into wall. And align Gecko over existing holes in wall.

7- Screw Gecko into existing holes in wall.

8- Admire your handy work and your Gecko.

NOTE.:: Your holes might not line up the same as the Gecko holes. It's just a matter if drilling 1 new hole to correct this.

TIP ::: If your drilled hole is larger than your screw, cut off the end of a wood golf tee and push in hole. That way your screw will have something to grab onto. Or you can use an inexpensive plastic molly, available at all hardware stores.

I have gotten nothing but compliments since I got this doorbell cover. I have to admit, I was a little disappointed at first because it's bigger than it seems. Aside from the linear dimensions, at its highest, it stands out from the wall about an inch at the center of the button and the rest is fairly substantial. Make sure it will fit where you want to put it. I was concerned because my doorbell was set perpendicular to the frame. When I installed it as shown, it barely fit.

I installed it as shown because that's where the holes were. Sadly, that buried its head in the corner and you had to look at it extra long to see what it was despite being so colorful. Then, one night, I was looking out on the porch where real geckos actually hang out, and noticed that they were clinging to wall with their heads pointed downward. I grabbed my screwdriver and loosened the doorbell. I turned it the exact opposite lining up the screws. I still didn't like it, so I set it at an off angle. Perfect! It really is just like a gecko might sit. I've included a picture for this page.

This high quality, quirky enamel Gecko creates a lot of interest and delight. Everybody says, "Where did you get that? I want one."

This doorbell cover is beautiful. Every time I look at it, I am glad I bought it.

The doorbell on our house is not right next to the front door, it is more off to the side. Therefore, a lot of people knock on our door because they think we do not have a doorbell. This little gecko, however, is painted so brightly and big enough size-wise that everybody notices it and uses our doorbell now.

It was extremely easy to install. Simply take the old cover off and attach the cables to the button part of this doorbell cover. All that is needed is a screw driver to attach it to the wall. The screws are provided.

What a fun way to greet people! Geckos love our garden in Houston, so this painted gecko doorbell feels and looks right at home. Neighbors noticed and loved this little fella right away. The lighted button is very BRIGHT at night...shows especially well in dim lighting. It was hard to find one without a recessed mount; if you don't already have a 5/8" or 9/16" diameter hold in the surface where the button will be mounted, this is just what you need. We replaced a doorbell on brick, so we couldn't easily drill a huge hole in the brick. This flat-mount model installed easily with only one screw-hole to drill to make it fit (because our old doorbell's screws were spaced much wider apart.

My wife thinks these are the "cutest" doorbells she has ever seen! They are well made and very easy to install.
