Part of Fodor's "Compass American Guides" series, Pennsylvania is introduced with a section on culture and history, is then arranged by regions of the state (with special emphasis on Philadelphia and Pittsburgh), and concludes with a section on food and lodging. Each area is broken down into cities and towns, with highlights of each, including phone numbers and hours of opening when appropriate. In addition to many useful maps scattered throughout, the guide is also lavishly adorned with beautiful photographs and illustrations. But travel guides always omit some important places, and this one is no exception; for instance, the unique Buggy Museum in Mifflinburg.
