This review is from: Compass American Guides : Manhattan (Paperback)
Visited New York twice with tour group, bought this book for planning purposes to visit city again with only my wife and child. This is a great guide and planning book. Has all the different sections laid out with facts and pictures. Easy to read, orderly, and interesting. Don't think you could find or buy a better book for this purpose. Everthing you need to plan a visit or vacation to the most interesting city in the world. Fun to read!! Even if you are not planning a trip, it is full of facts and interesting things of the city. GREAT BOOK!!!!!!

This review is from: Compass American Guides: Manhattan, 4th Edition (Paperback)
As a former U.S. History teacher, I have found no other guide to Manhattan that gives a more complete historical picture of that borough. I have owned multiple copies of this guide since its original release, making sure that I have the latest edition in hand when I visit Manhattan. I never run out of places to go or areas to explore, whether the site is Central Park, or a walking tour of Greenwich Village. The authors do this without sacrificing current attractions or "hot spots", such as jazz clubs, cool restaurants, or inexpensive outlets for Broadway tickets. This is really the only guide to Manhattan that anyone needs!
