P.S. It is also much quicker to put my Vita with a silicon case on in here, compared to the Travel pouch.
It has a "shell", but it is not a hard plastic shell like the one you have for your eyeglasses. It is hard enough to give the case a stiff shape, but it will get compressed if you put a heavy book on it. Beware of this if you are planning to put it in your bag along with other heavy things and books. The case is not stiff enough to support the weight of those kind of things and all the weight will be pressed on your vita. But if you pick the right spot on where to put this case inside your bag along with other stuff then you will be fine, this is what i'm doing and so far my vita is ok.
The texture of the shell's inside is similar to neoprene, won't scratch your vita screen but it will be better if you put a screen protector on your vita just to be sure. It has a netting inside too to put your games and memory card. I only have 2 games in cartridge and 1 is inside the vita so i can't tell how much cartridge can you put on this. My estimate is up to 15-20, still won't matter as it's not like you even have 10 vita games that you want to play anyway *zing (love my vita lol).
It has 2 garters inside. They probably put it to avoid the accidental slipping(and potential fall) of your vita once you open the case. I'm not using it as the garter doesn't stretch enough to ease the inserting and removing of your vita. It's like its about to get detach to the case if i stretch it even further. THe case is still ok if you don't use it.
And the case is not waterproof. I don't think i need to experiment on that one to prove its not waterproof.Read more ›
Anyway, my expectations were for a neoprene-style case. Instead, this is basically a hard case. That's fine, it's just a little heavier than all neoprene. It is a perfect fit vertically and horizontally, but it's a rather tight fit depth-wise, at least until it breaks in (after as few days).
For six beans shipped, it's not a bad little case. I'm glad I got it instead of the much more expensive first-party case.
AND no it does not smell..
