I don't see a Compendium 2 that has been published, so where does one begin to read after this? I know the series is up to 70 something.

The Compendium ends with issue 48, so you should pick up Vol. 9 (which is issue 49-54) and move on from there.

Anyone know if there will be another compendium volume? I'd hate to buy them volume by volume if they'll be out in a bundle any time soon.

I was wondering that too. This one came out over a year ago, you'd think one would at least show up for pre-order (or TBA) but maybe they are waiting for a certain number of issues to be released. Since this one had almost 50 and they're up into the 70s? Although personally with how heavy this one is I wouldn't mind it slightly smaller.

The trade paperbacks w 6 issues each are out roughly every 6 months. The hardcover compendium have 12 issues, which means one release per year. This compendium has the first 4 years worth of issues, and the comic magazine series is at # 78. Unless the publisher is feeling generous, you can expect another compendium in more than another year and a half at the earliest. Moreover, the publisher loses money by letting folks buy the compendium rather than 4 of the hardcovers, so they probably will not exactly be rushing it into print. Bottom line: compendium 1 is just the point of entry to the series, and if you like it enough to continue reading, you'll probably end up buying the continued series in less economical formats.

Compendium 1 (Issues #1-48) was released on 5/6/2009, so expect Compendium 2 (#49-96) to be released approx 5/6/2013.

As of this date, 3 years worth of issues are out, so just need another year more :) Unless you want to go ahead and buy the hardcover books 5-7 (#49-84) right now if you can't wait.

Well, we're only a few issues away from another 48 having been released so probably sometime in the next year or so. ^^

On his twitter feed, Robert Kirkman said he finished Compendium 2 on March 14. Should be out soon, yay!
