From School Library Journal
Grade 4-7?Kelly Reynolds, 12, is a talented gymnast. Her mother owns and operates a gym in Atlanta and has recently married a Russian coach with a 12-year-old gymnast daughter. Kelly tries to be friends with Maya, but to no avail. When a jealous older girl instigates discord between the stepsisters, she succeeds admirably. The upcoming gymnastics meet is threatened, as is the sanity and peace of Kelly's household. The characters are likable and realistically drawn, and details of the sport are interwoven throughout the story. Charbonnet includes a handy glossary of gymnastics terms. A promising beginning to a new series.?Katrina Yurenka, Jaffrey Public Library, NH
