5.0 out of 5 stars best goggles ever
After being a competitive swimmer for nearly 7 years, I have used many different types and brands of goggles. For $3, you must think you are gettting a shabby pair of goggles here, but once you get used to these, they are THE BEST. Nearly all other people I swam with used these. I even raced with these. 1.0 out of 5 stars not worth it
Maybe I just haven't gotten used to them but I feel that they were not worth the money. They are pretty uncomfortable as noted by some reviewers who gave it five stars, having to find ways to make it comfortable on the nose. I feel that comfort should be a big part of any type of accessories. Without the padding, they stuck to my face leaving unwanted marks and were...

Tips:

Grind down the inside part of the goggles closest to the nose, this part protrudes a little and I always found a little grinding on a rough surface fixed it

Make sure when you do the nosepiece, to put it as close together as you can - to far = leakage and it is a pain to re-do it once it is done

5.0 out of 5 stars Best goggles you can buy!, December 21, 2006

Once you get used to them, nothing else compares and they're definitley worth the money. I don't understand how stores carry 20 kinds of goggles but not these. Here's a tip, instead of using the string across the nose, cut off a piece of the extra strap and thread that through both holes. It's got a little stretch and it's easier on the nose. Enjoy!

5.0 out of 5 stars Best goggles for swimmers, November 17, 2006
This review is from: Swedish Goggle (Misc.)
I had tried so many other goggles before I finally found these ones in high school. I have been racing with them for eight years now and I absolutely refuse to wear any other goggles for practice or my meets. If you are going for serious competition goggles, these are it. However, they are not for everyone. They take some getting used to at first, and they are not for anyone who does not take this sport seriously. Once you are used to the goggles, it feels like they mold to your eye sockets. There is no padding, so they stick to your face very very well. And, most importantly, they never fall off on my starts.

5.0 out of 5 stars the BEST goggle ever!!!, October 23, 2007

ive used these goggles for over 20 years now!!! when i was a teenager and they didnt have the internet (imagine that)... i would travel to a certain meet each year, even when i wasnt swimming, just to pick up a few pairs of these where i knew they were sold.

i now use bungee straps because they are easier to loosen for practice, tighten for competition. but for those that arent able to tie the nosepiece string to the right length, HINT: tie it loose and then twist to shorten length before wearing. and as for the string cutting, remember the string should be inside the rubber nosepiece tube! i always pull the string knot inside the rubber tube as well.

5.0 out of 5 stars great and cheap swimming google, January 31, 2009
This review is from: Swedish Goggle (Misc.)
I love this googles.. they are inexpensive and works great. My first order I got a dark color that didn't work well in indoors pool. So if you are planning to swim indoors make sure to choose the clear colors so you can see well.

Enjoy,

Suzana

The swedish goggles will rock your other ones. They never leak and are very comfortable. But dont get excited yet Swedish goggles might be uncomfortable because it has no padding. But try them on before you buy so you have a feel for them. Well so long for now.

I've been using these goggles (smoke color) since 2004, and they are brilliant. They fit perfectly and there is no leak. I only had to change the rubber strap once or twice since then. It requires assembly, and some people find the "macaroni" part that covers the string connecting the two pieces a bit tricky. However, this allows to get a perfect fit for your eyes. I recommend this for swimmers or anyone who likes to spend time in the water.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great goggles for serious swimmers, July 7, 2011

I have been using Swedish goggles for about 20 years, for competitive swimming as well as recreational/exercise swimming. When I was just a wee lad I used the leaky foam ones like everyone else, but once I changed to Swedish I never went back. When adjusted properly, they fit very well and don't leak at all. Here are a few tips if you are having problems with leaking/fog. Ideally, get someone who wears them already to show you how to fit them. If that's not possible, here are some tips that should help.

1) Make the rubber strap the correct length. It doesn't need to be super tight, but tight enough so that when you push off of the wall or dive in the goggles don't move/leak

2) Adjust the nose strap to the correct length. If you are having water leak in around the eyes, try twisting one eyepiece relative to the other before you put them on. This twists the nose string and tightens it up a bit. It may take a few twists to get them just right, but is much easier than trying to get the little string tied just perfect. For me, I can tell it is tight enough when I get just a little extra tightness where they hit my nasal bone.

3) Put them on when you're dry to reduce the fog. If you wet the goggles or yourself before putting them on, you're just letting extra moisture into the lens cup. However, like all goggles they will eventually fog up. When they do, fill the cups up with water and drain them carefully to get all of the water out without leaving drops in there.

The straps on mine tend to last about a year, especially if I don't use them over the winter. So I usually replace them every year...no big deal since they're under $10 and way cheaper than speedo or others. I also like the Swans for racing, but they are harder to find, and not durable enough for everyday use (in my experience).

Bottom line: if you want some reliable goggles for swimming laps, go for the swedish. They do take some getting used to (especially if all you have used is the foamy or rubber gasket kind), but once you get them just right they perform much better in terms of leakage and durability for every day use. I usually get one tinted and one clear for day/night/indoor use. Best of all, they are dirt cheap! Happy swimming =)

5.0 out of 5 stars Best deal out there, February 25, 2010

These goggles are great, as long as you know what you're getting yourself into. They don't have any padding, so the watertight seal is created by these goggles sitting very tightly in your eye sockets. It can take a little getting used to, but once you've tried swedish goggles, you'll never want to use anything else--I know that I haven't, at least. Best of all, they're dirt cheap. Enjoy.

5.0 out of 5 stars best goggles ever made!, February 16, 2008
This review is from: Swedish Goggle (Misc.)
These are the best goggles that are out there! I recently went to a meet and stupidly forgot to bring an extra pair with me and had to buy a pair of Speedo Vanquisher goggles. That was the most uncomfortable meet i have ever swam at. The only downside to these goggles is that they are not outdoor goggles. To be able to easily swim outdoors, I would suggest the mirrored version. Definitely worth the money, and what is great is that they rarely ever break. They do take some getting used to, but after that you will never want to go back to a regular goggle.
