I have been swimming for more than 25 year, regular competition when I was young , open water and waterpolo now. The swedish googles are the best their simplicity of design, the ergonomic shape that make them fit perfectly and the comfort even thought they have no foam gasket in the rims. I have even used them on long distance competition too.
Once you get used to them , you'll never use anything else.

Swedes are a very strange breed. Most goggles will be at least acceptable for almost everyone. These are totally different: either they're the best goggles you've ever worn and the only ones you'll ever buy, or you have no idea why people like them so much because they kill your face while letting in more water than you ever thought possible. I've never met anyone who tried these and didn't have a very strong opinion.

Most of the guys on my high school swimming team swore by them once they tried them. Others swore at the guy who sold them. For $4, it's more than worth it to know which group you fit in. Be sure to buy straps for them - the plastic cups themselves are the only part of the kit worth the material they're made with.

I'm an avid swimmer, between 3000 to 8000 meters every 2 days or so and I can simply tell you that this is by far the best pair of goggles you'll ever get.

Cheap and super easy to use product. I read a review before I bought it and it said the product came in a plastic bag unassembled and with no instructions - which is true. In order to assemble it, all you have to do is Google "how to assemble Swedish goggles" and you'll have it done in just a couple of minutes. I recommend cutting a 1-2 inch piece of the rubber strap to put along the bridge of the nose rather than using the string that comes with it.

No hype, just good swim goggles. Plain and simple. Reminds me of the good old days of swimming practice.

I have been using Swedish goggles for about 20 years, for competitive swimming as well as recreational/exercise swimming. When I was just a wee lad I used the leaky foam ones like everyone else, but once I changed to Swedish I never went back. When adjusted properly, they fit very well and don't leak at all. Here are a few tips if you are having problems with leaking/fog. Ideally, get someone who wears them already to show you how to fit them. If that's not possible, here are some tips that should help.

1) Make the rubber strap the correct length. It doesn't need to be super tight, but tight enough so that when you push off of the wall or dive in the goggles don't move/leak

2) Adjust the nose strap to the correct length. If you are having water leak in around the eyes, try twisting one eyepiece relative to the other before you put them on. This twists the nose string and tightens it up a bit. It may take a few twists to get them just right, but is much easier than trying to get the little string tied just perfect. For me, I can tell it is tight enough when I get just a little extra tightness where they hit my nasal bone.

3) Put them on when you're dry to reduce the fog. If you wet the goggles or yourself before putting them on, you're just letting extra moisture into the lens cup. However, like all goggles they will eventually fog up. When they do, fill the cups up with water and drain them carefully to get all of the water out without leaving drops in there.

The straps on mine tend to last about a year, especially if I don't use them over the winter. So I usually replace them every year...no big deal since they're under $10 and way cheaper than speedo or others.

The Original, cheap Swedish goggles are still the very best. For those who aren't avid swimmers who train all the time as I used to (I was a competitive USS Swimmer), they take some getting used to because of their lack of padding, and sometimes require a bit of filing at certain edges with imperfect plastic edges. That all admitted, they've been around forever, they put up with a beating, and are incredibly comfortable. The Originals are still the best damn goggles out there. I wouldn't trade my Swedish goggles for any other kind. What's more, even if you lose them, a simple replacement is still dirt cheap!

If you are an avid swimmer, these are absolutely the best goggles you will ever have. Most elite swimmers will not wear any other type of goggles. They last longer and most importantly, they never leak if you "build" them properly. If you are a casual swimmer though, you may not like them right away.. it takes getting use to and you have to spend some time adjusting for tightness in the straps and on the nosepiece.
