5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent, in-depth coverage -- very readable
I grabbed a copy of this along with Dick Grune's "Parsing Techniques", and was very satisfied.

The text is very readable, and the diagrams are useful and descriptive and useful. The book is rather long (~1000 pages), but of course, this is a very complex and wide-ranging subject. And the pace is manageable, even with all of the information that they managed...

1.0 out of 5 stars Not best transaction
I recieved a printing that I later found out, by my University Professor, had many errors and that a newer printing had those errors fixed. If I had recieved the error free edition I would not have a problem with this text.

I grabbed a copy of this along with Dick Grune's "Parsing Techniques", and was very satisfied.

The text is very readable, and the diagrams are useful and descriptive and useful. The book is rather long (~1000 pages), but of course, this is a very complex and wide-ranging subject. And the pace is manageable, even with all of the information that they managed to pack in. Ask around, and you'll hear that this is one of the standard texts on the subject -- and for good reason. I've yet to find anything that even approaches it in quality.

A++: Highly recommended.
