5.0 out of 5 stars Regarding Naturopathy's Science-Ejected Vitalism Premise, 2007:, April 10, 2009
This review is from: Complementary Medicine For Dummies (Paperback)
This book, written by an ND, states, regarding the vitalism that is the center of naturopathy:

"modern day naturopathy combines ancient knowledge of natural therapies with modern scientific knowledge about nutrition and health [p.200... ] the idea behind naturopathy [...is that] naturopaths believe that [...] the body's 'vital force', which determines health and healing, becomes weakened and leads to disease [p.203...] by facilitating the body's natural healing mechanisms, naturopaths believe that the body's 'vital force' can be strengthened [p.204...yet] some naturopathic concepts, such as that of vital force [...] have been dismissed by modern scientists as having no real foundation [p.208]."

Wow, the cognitive dissonance is deafening.

Quite a hoot.
