5.0 out of 5 stars Wish I had this a year ago! December 1, 2011
Format:Kindle Edition
Reading this how-to book on the Kindle has made me fall in love with my Kindle all over again. I received my Kindle as a gift almost a year ago. I basically use it just for reading. I was aware that it was capable of much more, but just never took the time to explore its' possibilities. That is until now. I just finished reading this book and I have played with my Kindle more in the past 24 hours than I have all year(other than just reading books). This guide is easy to read, easy to understand, and a must have for all Kindle users. You can bet I will be surfing the web, checking my email and a whole lot more, from now on.
I can't imagine why anyone wouldn't want a copy of this book. Great job Bruce and Stephen!
I received a complimentary copy of this book to review.

5.0 out of 5 stars A Handy Reference Guide November 16, 2011
By Rich'it
Format:Kindle Edition
While Amazon has produced it's own Owner's Manual for the Kindle 3 and 3G, Bruce Grubbs and Stephan Winwalker have picked up where Amazon dropped off. And who would know better than Winwalker, the editor at the top-notch blog, KindleNationDaily, about the ins and outs of owning a Kindle 3? The topics somewhat over lap with what's in Amazon's manual by necessity. But there's additional material as well, like lending books and fixing certain problems that I didn't see addressed in Amazon's manual. The style of writing is easy and personal. The resources listed on how to fine free books other web content will send Kindle owners to explore other ways of using their devise. The price is not bad either at 99 cents. Not everything included in the The Complete Uses Guide will be needed my most Kindle owners, but it's there if and when the need arises. I received a complimentary copy of this book in order to review it.

5.0 out of 5 stars Valuable Introduction for Both Newbie and Techie January 2, 2012
Format:Kindle Edition
As the happy recipient of a new Kindle Touch for Christmas (Thanks, Santa!), I was happy for the opportunity to read The Complete User's Guide to the Amazing Amazon Kindle Keyboard by Bruce Grubbs and Stephen Windwalker.

The Kindle model I received is the Touch, and this book is officially about the Keyboard, a different Kindle model, with a different interface.

I was concerned about that, but decided that the book would contain useful information, even if not all of it applied to my model. That turned out to be the case.

The authors take readers step by step through basics from turning your Kindle on to using your Kindle to check your email. Since I use the touch screen and the Keyboard has a keyboard, I sometimes had to say, "Hmm. Now that I know it can do that, let me see where that control is." And with a little bit of searching, sometimes with the help of the Kindle user's guide that came on the device, I usually found what I was looking for.

But the most valuable information in the book is not specific to any model. There are sources for free books, information on how to read the news on Google Reader, and advanced research techniques that allow you to compile your own ebook from articles on the web. I had no idea there were so many free and inexpensive resources raising the information power of this device even beyond what I had expected when I asked Santa for one.

The book is well written, with instructions that will get readers through their first foray into the world of digital devices. Those with more experience in the tech realm can easily skim the step-by-step (although it's nice to have it in case I miss an instruction somewhere) and get to the valuable sources of content that the book details.

5.0 out of 5 stars How to use a Kindle Keyboard from Amazon from A-Z December 31, 2011
Format:Kindle Edition
I wanted to read The Complete User's Guide to the Amazing Amazon Kindle Keyboard ebook because I yet do not own a Kindle. In making any choice to purchase an item new on the market I love to research what it is all about. I have to say that what I loved most about the ebook is that it tells you everything you need to know about the Kindle Keyboard and how to work it in detail with photos. The font was easy to read and the display of the text was very well done. I felt like there was too much information but that is because I am in the process of finding resources to learn about the Kindle and this ebook gives advanced detail for when I do buy one there would be no need for future book purchases.

3.0 out of 5 stars Good Guide But Not Complete December 28, 2011
Format:Kindle Edition
This is a good guide for first time users of the Kindle, but it is not complete. There is so much that could have been told about the Kindle that is not included in here.
Also it says that Amazon does not keep your personal documents you send to your Kindle in the archives. Well I checked my archives and my personal documents are there and
I was able to download them to my Kindle again.
This really needs updated and to include more about the Kindle. Just one example would be a list of commands you can do with the keyboard.
I received a free copy of this ebook for an honest review.
