Thomas A. Limoncelli was born in New Haven Connecticut but his family soon moved to Morristown New Jersey where he grew up. The fifth and youngest child of the family he found himself usually hiding in his room spending hours playing with LEGOs, then with model trains, then with 8-bit computers. The computer experience is what became his career.
Tom graduated Morristown High School in 1987 and graduated from Drew University with a B.A. in Computer Science in 1991.
Now Tom is an internationally recognized author, speaker, and system administrator. His books include The Practice of System and Network Administration (Addison-Wesley) and Time Management for System Administrators (O'Reilly).
He shared the SAGE 2005 Outstanding Achievement Award with Christine Hogan for their contributions to the field of system administration, in particular The Practice of System and Network Administration.
Outside of computers he spends his free time doing grass roots activism for which he has been recognized both on the state and national level.
He currently lives in Bloomfield, New Jersey with his partner Chris. He works at Google in their NYC. He blogs at http://EverythingSysadmin.com
