A very practical cookbook with an easy-to-read format that clearly show the serving size for each recipe, a brief explanation of the origins of the recipes, precise listing of all the ingredients involved, detailed listing of the instructions about how to make it and some tips you can use to make the recipe as good as it can possibly be. If you like to be held by the hand as you cook, then this is the book for you. There's even an extremely educational look at some common cooking ingredients at the beginning of the book that will make anyone a better cook.

I baked a few pieces from this cookbook and it's excellent!! I love the pictures (I'm quite visual person) and it's rather comprehensive. The only thing is....it's probably not for the health conscious, but then most dessert recipes aren't exactly the most healthy foods, are they? Easy to follow instructions too.

The Complete Baking Cookbook has 350 recipes, from basics to updated classics. To be a good baker you must know about ingredients and equipment and the first chapter is this book has detailed information. Clearly drawn illustrations make it easy to learn techniques, such as how to roll out a pie crust. Although not every recipe has a tip, when they are included they provide helpful information. If you're a cheesecake lover be sure to try the Blue Ribbon Cheesecake. As the author of Baking Basics and Beyond, I recommend this cookbook because of the wide range of recipes and clearly written directions. Pat Sinclair

I love to bake and when I saw this book on here I had to try it out. The things in this book are amazing! I have yet to make something and it not come out right or not be yummy!

This is an excellent book on baking and would highly reccommend it to anyone who loves to bake as I do.

I fell in love with this cookbook the first time I flipped through it, and keep finding exciting new recipes that I want to try next. His directions are easy to follow, even on "challenging" items. He makes it easy to whip out fantastic desserts without a lot of headache. Since I started using this cookbook, my family has dubbed me the dessert chef; I bring all the desserts for our family gatherings. It's very helpful with serving sizes and tips. Everything that the other reviews said is totally true. It's the only baking cookbook I feel I need.

I consider myself to be a pretty good baker. I've mastered several techniques for bread and I am the go-to when someone needs cookies or cakes for something. BUT all the recipes I've tried in this book have flopped. Completely. I don't know if the author didn't test his recipes or what, but after trying 4 different things that didn't work (muffins spread out in the pan, cupcakes coming out hard as rocks, brownies the consistency of sand), I'm giving this book to the Goodwill.

I have used this Baking Cookbook for about 2 years and have tried many of the recipes within. The recipes get mixed reviews; the muffin, brownie, and some cake recipes are good to excellent, but many of the cake recipes come out dry, and dense. I'm still looking for a good consistent cake cookbook!
