Book Description

April 1, 2006
Like many people, I used to spend a good deal of my time fantasizing about the life I wish I had. Caught in the mindset of “I could never do that,” “why can't I be more like so and so,” and “nothing is ever going to change”, I felt my dreams slipping away. But one simple question, why not?, changed my life forever. This phrase challenged to take control of my life and start driving towards the me I always hoped I could be.

The Complete Being: Finding and Loving the Real You will help you realize your own hopes and dreams. This book contains the wealth of my own personal journey to contentment in easy to adapt exercises that you can use to identify and strive towards your own life ambitions. You will regain control of your own destiny by applying these simple yet thought-provoking exercises in the mental, spiritual, emotional, and physical aspects of your life.

What People are Saying About The Complete Being

“The main point I saw in this work, and one I thought was outstanding, is that we are all individuals, unique and that one set formula may not work for everyone. I believe that is what makes her work different than other self-help books.”
—Shirley Johnson, Midwest Book Review

“I found myself submersed in this book, discovering it a true source of encouragement, that however overwhelming life becomes, we should stay aware of what we want, never forgetting where we come from or what our dreams are.”
—Tracy Jane-Newton, An Alternative View

“The Complete Being is meant to aid you in the further exploration of your wants, needs, and desires as well as your hopes and dreams. It is a very suitable guide for those painful first steps toward self-knowledge.”
—Robert Rich, PhD, author of Cancer: A Personal Challenge

About the Author

At seventeen years old, this mousy, small town girl found herself pregnant with her first child. By twenty-two years old, she had moved to the city and had three loving children but had very little independence, confidence, self esteem, or hope that she’d ever reach her most secret goals.

One day, she simply asked herself why not. Suddenly, she realized that her answers to this question were merely fear, excuses, obstacles and challenges. Though it seemed as though her goals were overwhelming and unattainable, she realized that she owed it to herself and those that loved her to try.

She started volunteering, got a paying job, went back to school, practiced her driving skills, did a lot of soul searching, and faced a myriad of other obstacles and challenges in an effort to become the person she knew she was deep inside.

Today, the author holds an M.A. in Archaeology and Heritage (earned with distinction from the University of Leicester, UK) and has her own archaeological consulting company. She also writes four regular columns for print and online media, has ghostwritten four ebooks, and has pub-lished dozens of articles. The author has also recently been named Dean of the School of Religion and Spirituality at Suite University, were she has developed and instructs several online interest courses.

5.0 out of 5 stars Addressing issues relevant to the mental, spiritual, emotional, and physical aspects of daily life, June 11, 2006
This review is from: The Complete Being: Finding And Loving the Real You (Paperback)
The Complete Being: Finding And Loving The Real You by Tami Brady (Dean of the School of Religion and Spirituality, Suite University) is a thoughtful and thought-provoking guide to dealing with those upsetting occurrences with which we are often faced as a result of the realities of stressful living. Addressing issues relevant to the mental, spiritual, emotional, and physical aspects of daily life, The Complete Being offers a measured and sage understanding of such issues as being caught up in a depressive and unhappy life, and creating a comprehensive understanding of what happiness in its purest form really is. A welcome and "reader friendly" addition to any self-help, self-improvement reading list or library reference shelf collections, The Complete Being is very strongly recommended, especially for those who are chronically unhappy or persistently unsatisfied by the everyday tedium surrounding their life and supersession their most deeply rooted ambitions.

5.0 out of 5 stars Resonating Your Own Unique Personhood, May 1, 2006
This review is from: The Complete Being: Finding And Loving the Real You (Paperback)
Tami Brady has provided a template to help the reader see life as a whole. The book is divided into four sections: mental, physical, emotional and spiritual. First Brady explains specifically the aspects of each. She moves on to ask the questions: How do these aspects affect daily life? What does this mean for me in particular? How can I go about changing or altering my current mixture of aspects? She then guides the reader to ask the question: What next?

As a part of this journey in self discovery Brady helps the reader explore predetermined conditions, genetics, and learned behavior patterns. Each section of the book includes practical, innovative exercises with specific questions to aid the reader in personally applying the principles discussed.

These exercises are especially valuable for use during times of extended contemplation and reflection. The book is introspective and individualistic. I found Brady's suggestions regarding active journaling especially helpful. A comprehensive bibliography and resource list enhance the future value of the book as a source of future study.

This work is an excellent choice for inclusion in the Spiritual Dimensions Series published by the Loving Healing Press. I found it helpful for self examination and analysis. The author helped me gain insights into my personal behavior patterns and in understanding myself in relation to the world around me.

Tami Brady is very articulate and an excellent communicator. The book is designed to help the reader discover for themselves an understanding of their own unique personality.
