Great Ideas & Info,

This book is filled with great ideas, tips & advice. I gave four stars only because of the cloth diaper section.
Pros: - simple, easy ideas for using/re-using household items for baby - resource for coupons & websites - advice on what to buy new, used or skip Cons - Cloth Diaper Section: - Savings: says only $25/mo saved using cloth diapers. Crazy - I save more than $25/mo using cloth! And no, my water & electricity bills have not risen! - Laundry: doesn't mention that you should use a clean-rinsing detergent only(VASKA, Nellie's Laundry Soda, Allen's Naturally, Charlie's Soap, etc). She's right that it is more laundry, but doesn't take more than 10 extra min throwing in the washer & dryer (may take 15 min if you line dry). And you generally only need to do a load every 2 days. - Newborn diapers: she says to skip these. I say DO NOT unless your baby is very large at birth. Yes, baby won't be in them very long (up to 4 wks), but these diapers w/umbilical fold are a lifesaver. The amount of diapers NBs go thru will shock your wallet if using dispoables! -Cost: the initial investment is more, but she only lists Ebay & mommysavers.com for buying diapers. Check out cottonbabies.com (great selection, fantastic customer service), greenmountaindiapers.com (cheapest diapers, all cotton), fuzzibunzstore.com (best one-size pocket diaper in my opinion) for reasonably price sampler packages & individual diapers -Diaper Pins: use Snappis instead (I do)

Some good tips, some common sense,

Would I pay $10 for it? Maybe, if I felt pretty overwhelmed by the impending costs of parenthood. Otherwise, many of the tips are not so "new" for savvy internet shoppers.
Perhaps this is a book best evaluated by a quick browsing through it at your library...if the contents seem "eyeopening" to you, then buy it if you wish.

For the $5 price on Amazon, this book is a GREAT bargain on its own! Has over 1,000 ideas of ways to save money on baby items, and although several are just common sense, I still ended up marking about 80 that I hadn't thought of. Great book to browse through and utilize!

Not worth the money,

I don't know if this needed to be an entire book. Most of the advice in there is somewhat redundant, gross, and common knowledge. The rest seems to be more expensive and time consuming in the long run. I think that if you're a stay at home mom, and have the time to devote to all the tips and tricks included, this book would be helpful. Otherwise, I would stick to online promo codes and coupons.

MommySavers.com's Kim Danger is a guru of savings for all-things-childrearing, so naturally it makes sense to consult her on baby bargains. I mean, how come the smallest people in the family require the most stuff? Anyhow, this is the perfect shower gift for the frugal family -- or any family, really, in this economy. If you're looking for deals and tips for saving money with a baby in the house, this is the book for you.
