Having visited with William Lessard in his home and attended several of his lectures I have a deep respect for his knowledge of banana plants. His collection contains varieties from around the world and one special variety I hope he will name after himself one day. I take pride in the fact that I have accumulated several plants in my collection from his farm in Homestead Florida. I was inspired by his book and have benefited greatly from it. I highly recommend this book to anyone interested in learning about the history of the banana plant and the unique characteristics of several species. "Bananasaurus Rick"

I enjoyed reading this book which is filled with information useful to the backyard gardener, botanist, cook, and plantation agronomist. I have been invoved in banana production in Asia and believe that this book should be an integral part of our training. The recipes are wonderful!

This man started my passion for growing banana plants. Not for their fruit, as I am in zone 8, but for their extreme beauty and tropical look they give to your gardens. It's a shame that it is not re-printed as the used prices are a total rip-off.
