This is a new edition, with lots of new material added since the prior version. I was already a fan of Ms. Dale's work after reading The Subtle Body, and now am even more of a fan. I am not an energy healer - I work with the chakras meditatively, in the tradition of various Eastern spiritual lineages - and so was not sure how much I would get out of this book. But like The Subtle Body, I ended up reading this book cover to cover, and enjoying every page. Her comprehensive knowledge of the chakras from many different traditions - Native and Central American, Tibetan, Indian, Sufi, Kabbalah, and more - and her own vast client experience, make this a compelling and unique read.

The author does provide the usual basic information on the now standard 7-chakra system familiar to many Westerners in this field, but then provides her own much larger system, encompassing 12 major chakras and 20 more spiritual energy centers. She covers their relationship to different types of energy bodies and channels in detail, as well as their inter-relationship. She also provides concrete methods for working with each center, and exercises that anyone - not just professional energy healers - can use to connect to each, or diagnose and heal any of them.

Some of the topics covered in this book that I particularly was interested in are the ways in which women's and men's energy bodies differ, especially their relationship to the lower three chakras. I also particularly liked the section on energy cords, which included information on the parent-child bond.

The Bibliography is also excellent, and I've added several new books to my 'must-read' list.

This book, totally reworked from the original release, integrates a LOT of new information. There is more reference to scientific research, something the original release did not have, simply because the research didn't exist at that time. I really enjoyed reading the discussion of the human energy system along with the supporting scientific findings. In addition, there is an addendum filled with information about the energetics of different diseases. Not only do I find this book to be a fascinating read, but a tremendous help in tying science, energy, and dis-ease together.

i have read plenty books on chakra's however this is one of the most "COMPLETE" chakra books i have ever, ever, read. i would recomend if you read this book you will not only be changed, you will also not half to read another chakra book! this book is very detailed and explains in a way we can comprehend no matter your level of education. this book is very deep interesting on an intimate degree of a world of chakra knowledge.you will get all that your looking for and more than you ever knew existed.

my husband is very interested in chakra healing and so we bought two copies for myself and me. i was very surprised to see that this book is big and thick! i was very please to just see how much vast information was in it! i read the review on how we will never need another chakra book again if we buy this...and im glad i read it! because this is our first chakra book we bought and most likely the last, unless cyndi dale decides to revise this version to make it more informative than it already it! its amazing. has a good enough ratio of picture charts and information. i love it! i would give this five stars but i wish there was a hardcover version. i dont like having the wear and tear of covers and falling apart on me, thats my worst fear for books. lol. but i guess, its not the cover (even though i do love the cover) its whats inside the book that matters. :] which is a lot of detailed information!

Cyndi Dale is an established expert in the area of Energy Centers also known as Chakras. Here she takes this knowledge and further refines it, expanding it to include our Auras, our negative bonds with others, the way we can grow and change, how we can understand what we feel intuitively better so that we can heal ourselves and others, and also so that we can find the joy in our lives, which she calls our Life's Purpose. Everything I have read or listened to of Cyndi Dale's has been enjoyable, intellectually stimulating, emotionally right-on, and Spiritually both fun and easy to comprehend, while she integrates her concepts into our daily lives along with each of the concepts themselves. So, Satya Rising Source and our clients sincerely recommend this book to anyone along the path of Human discovery.

Thorough and packed with all the information you will need on the chakras. A definite must for the metaphysical library.

When I saw this book in the bookstore, I spent some time reading it and finally decided to buy it, despite it being quite expensive buying it at full retail. I had been looking for a good book on the chakras for a while, especially during my yoga days but either the books were too light, such as the Anatomy of Spirit by Caroline Myss or too esoteric, like Harish Johari's book on Chakras. This brick of a book definitely exceeded my expectations.

Cyndi Dale's system of Chakras extends beyond the usual seven physical chakras to twelve chakras as well as 32 minor chakras. Although some of the details do seem to stray into the esoteric, for the most part the language is clear and concise with descriptions of associated diseases and imbalances and prescriptions of how to overcome blocks through diet and exercise with good case histories. The other interesting thing that the book does is to tie the minor chakras with Chinese meridian points to provide an integrated system, which I had not seen other books do before. Most of the time the meridians are equated with nadis and left at that. There is also a wealth of information tying her findings to some of the latest scientific research.

I found that by reading the book I was able to make correlations between imbalances in the third chakra and my current injuries (back injuries and liver weakness) and situation (dissatisfaction at work), and some of the real life stories resonated strongly with me. There were also diagnoses of certain diseases such as AIDS, autism, chronic fatigue syndrome and how they relate to imbalances in the body. For the sceptics there is some work that can be done with pendulums, to demonstrate the existence of the chakras. This was one of the things that was quite powerful for me, as I was really surprised how the pendulum would move by itself when concentrating on one of the chakras.

Beyond the system of the chakras, Dale also deals with auras, rays and spirit guides, which is valuable information for those inclined in that direction, but these sections can be glossed over if your interest is mainly in the chakras, like mine.

I very much liked Dale's approach as she emphasizes the physical as well as the spiritual, and always stressed the importance of being grounded, which she says is one of the biggest mistakes of many of the new healing modalities being taught. This accorded well with my personal experience, for when I was training yoga every day and adhering to a strict vegetarian diet with meditation, I always found that I felt "spacey" and like I was floating. It was not until I had a strong martial arts practice to balance this that I felt more grounded and effective in the world, and not trying to escape it.

I would definitely recommend this as a follow on from the Subtle body for those who have an interest in energy work, healing and yoga.

This is one of the best books that I have ever read. Dale has discussed the Chakras from so many points that you will certainly be able to find a place to start or advance your understanding of how these amazing centers operate. This is a very complex subject and I found myself returning to earlier chapters to cross reference material discussed in the middle and end of the book. I would recommend it to anyone doing energy work or to those who want to understand it.

this is a great book to get the information you have been seeking on moving and aligning your whole Be-ing. This book has taken me on a new journey.

This book was very technical especially for a Reiki level I initiate, but as I progress in intuition even at this level I know this book will become a valuable reference guide for me.

Before I bought this book, I read the reviews and found them very helpful. Like the sizes when shopping for clothes on line. This book was true to size. I got exactly what I ordered.
