There are 3 things which are needed in order to calculate a Natal chart correctly. Those 3 things are; 1. Date of birth, 2. Time of birth, 3. Place of birth (city,state,country). When a person does not know the exact time of birth, an astrologer has several options available. A chart can be cast for 12:00 am.(Midnight)or 12:00 pm. (Noon) for the day of birth. This will give a snapshot of the planets for the time selected. Because of the daily planetary movements, this will not be as accurate as having the exact birth time. The process an astrologer can go through to discover the birth time,it is called Rectification.
