A great book becomes a shadow of its former self,

After spending hours with my nose deep into the pages of Mr.Langworth's original hardcover Complete Book of Collectible Cars, I decided to purchase the update in paperback form. I must say that I would be much happier with the original.Gone are the color pictures of the world's great classics. Missing, as well, are the two and three paragraph summaries of each auto. Furthermore, many of the important classics, milestones and special-interest autos such as Cisitalia and Lancia Stratos have been cut. This book may still be the best overview of collector cars available. The author's comments about each model's pros and cons tend to be quite accurate. But I beg and plead for the publisher to bring back the hardcover edition! |
