253 pages of information at your finger tips that can save you money and more important can save your pet from injury and pain when needed, I have always had dogs and my latest dog Major is a Belguim Shepherd and the vet has been treating him for Purile rhynitis, Major is now 11 years and 3 months old and is a healthy 49kgs and apart from the snotty nose he has no problems in destroying the kong toys that he plays with.
I use these type of toys so that I can keep a check on his teeth a great source of infection to any animal is the condition of their teeth,(mentioned in the book) also another source in long haired animals is ticks that live of the animals blood supply when grooming an animal always check right down to the skin a little time spent doing this will save you lots of time visiting the vets and putting your pet through the ordeal of having possible blood diorders.
I recommend that this book should be a first time purchase for a first time animal owner as it gives them all the information that they may ever need for a happy life together with their pet.

This book was not terribly useful when I bought it years ago. Nowadays there are some really great, helpful, and even life-saving vet reference guides. Every dog owner should have one-- but be sure to buy a recent and well-reviewed option.
