He has performed over 10,000 hair restoration surgeries, and is the Assistant Clinical Professor of Dermatology at the University of California at San Francisco (UCSF), and Chief of Dermatology at Saint Mary's Medical Center. He is a fellow of the American Academy of Cosmetic Surgery, and many other professional organizations.

If you are looking for history on what people have done since 44BC until now, and if you only wish to go the route of surgical procedures
this book will interest you.
Natural hair solutions were skimmed over so quickly I had to go back to see if I had missed something. So, if you are interested in alternative options such as diet, disease control, save a tree and don't buy this book.
The Internet is a good source too after you wade through the crap that is out there. See other hair loss books through Amazon.
