4.0 out of 5 stars A nice companion to "The story of Miss Saigon..."
At times this lovely book gets a little slow, but the more than sufficient cast photos and full libretto make up for the lacking of quantity...I only wish Eddie had written this one after "The Concert." The comments would have been limitless. Did we HEAR Lea Salonga? Genius...pure genius.

3.0 out of 5 stars The Complete Book of Les Miserables
This does NOT have a full libretto. I was under the impression that it contained a full libretto, but it only has a script. There is absolutely no music scores or sheet music to go with the lyrics.

If you are looking for a history on the musical and even info on Victor Hugo's writing of the novel, then this is a pretty good book for that. It even has a...

5.0 out of 5 stars An updated version, please!, April 21, 2004

The book is good; however, it would have been better, as another reviewer pointed out, had it been written after the 10th Anniversary Concert. I did hear that a "revised" version came out with photos from the concert. Fans of the amazing Lea Salonga would have been happy to get copies of such version.

The Complete Book of Les Miserables is well illustrated with photos from the original casts. This volume does have the complete Libretto in the back and good descriptive copy throughout. Worth having for Les Mis fans

If you are looking for a history on the musical and even info on Victor Hugo's writing of the novel, then this is a pretty good book for that. It even has a timeline of Victor Hugo's life. It would make a great reference for a paper or article if you were writing about Les Mis or Victor Hugo.

However if you are looking for the music or libretto, this does not contain any music pages. Only lyrics and script.
