I homeschool my kids and this is a great workbook. There are enough pictures and color to be interesting without being overbearing. It has good explanations of each topic and then lots of practice pages so the kids can really get a good feel for each topic. Many workbooks just touch on a subject but do not provide enough daily assignments and then you have to supplement. This book is more than sufficient on its own. There is an answer key in the back. This is a nice thick substantial book.

'The Complete Book of...' line offers many great great workbooks. Some of the others we use are: Animals, English and Language Arts, Grammar and Punctuation, US History, Presidents and States, Dinosaurs, Science... just to name a few. They are great!

my grandson and myself find this book very interesting and easy to go through. it keeps his interest and anything that will keep him interested so he will learn is a good thing

We love the book not only does it have very good information of the solar system is also a work book, my son loves it.

It was a Christmas gift for my 6-year-old granddaughter. It arrived on time. We had fun going over it on Christmas Day and she loves it. So do I and I highly recommend it for anyone interested in learning more about our solar system.

I homeschool and bought this book for my 7 year old as something science like to study and work on when I needed her to work on her own, completely, while I do things with other kids. This was a big hit. We have tons of nice books on solar system, but none of them are workbooks with games, things to cut and paste, fill out, or color. My dd7 already knew a lot of things so this was not something new to her. She loves this book and wants to do it all the time not for school time but as her fun time activity. My older one who is 10 wants this book for herself, too. They both just played facts game and had fun.

However, buyers must be aware (I wasn't since I didn't pay attention to the publishing date) that this workbook includes Pluto as a planet. It's still a nice workbooks and kids can learn a lot, but when there are questions like: How many planets are in our solar system, you need to be flexible and be willing to adjust.
Easy to do, but some people really don't want to. So be aware of this.

I purchased this book for my son's 2nd grade project. This book is a workbook. I expected it to be like a reading book with pictures and fun facts. It does have some fun facts but it's written for older kids probably. On the other hand, I found Solar System by Mike Goldsmith a better choice for my son.
