A classic "must read" for fans of the shooting sports.,

I grew up reading Jack O'Connor's articles and books, and on a whim happened to find this one. He and some of the most authoritative gun writers of the late '70's collaborated to cover various aspects of shooting as it existed then. What is most intriguing is that many of their opinions are just as valid now as they were then. Jeff Cooper writes about handguns, O'Connor covers shotgunning and rifle shooting, as well as various other contributors on more detailed aspects of all three disciplines. This is a fantastic book to pull out on a Sunday evening while sitting next to a cozy fire to relive a simpler and more relaxed era. It will also teach the reader something about why various opinions and ideas we hold today came to be taken for granted.

The handgun portion is a bit dated, but still fascinating. Recommended for someone just getting into shooting.
