The Complete Book of Traditional Aran Knitting, September 21, 2006
I've had this book for a few years now. It has many classic aran knitting designs that can be updated quickly and easily. It's a nice addition to your knitting library if you enjoy knitting cables. A good supplement to any of Barbara G. Walkers Treasury of Knitting Patterns. Included are the following chapters:

The Complete Book of Traditional Aran Knitting, June 1, 2009
This book is not for the beginning knitter. I found it very valuable for my purposes, however. After an interesting history of the origins of Aran knitting, the book contains clear photographs and careful instructions for dozens of different patterns. It is an enormous help to someone who has already mastered the complicated stitches necessary for doing fisherman's knit sweaters. I am knitting a large afghan in 12 inch squares, and I put together different patterns to make each square unique. I used the pattern on the front of the book for one of the squares. The sweaters shown in the last section of the book are disappointing and dated, but the pattern instructions make the book well worth its price.

my knitting bible!, October 18, 2011
This review is from: Complete Book of Traditional Aran Knitting (Hardcover)
I have had this book for years. My first copy wore out years ago, and I had to buy a new one (amidst fears that it might be out of print). I do a lot of Aran knitting, and this book has been most valuable, and the instructions for designing your own patterns are very clear and understandable. I would highly recommend this book to anyone who wants to venture into Aran-land.
