5.0 out of 5 stars an actual relevant, up-to-date etiquette book, April 30, 2000

This review is from: Complete Business Etiquette Handbook (Hardcover)
Finally, an etiquette book that is relevant to today's business world. Everything important is covered from the right handshake to dress-down Friday's to how much to tip. I especially liked the chapters on basic common courtesies that we seem to have forgotton, such as not refilling the copy machine paper and not chewing with your mouth full.

Every person in the working world from the mailroom to the executive offices should read this. It would certainly make work much more pleasant.

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent Book!!!, October 11, 2001

I have read this book... I think it is great, well-illustrated, and comprehensive...

This book teachs the ABC of etiquette. A person that never knows about etiquette can learn from this book, still, it is great for those whom know about etiquette, since it is really advanced...

I do recommend it

5.0 out of 5 stars It might be just as important as a MBA, September 22, 2011

If you've ever been put on hold for ten minutes, felt you had to be a cheering section at a rally disguised as a meeting, stepped back because someone was too close, or watched someone's thoughts and eyes wonder off into space from ADD, you will know why Brody and Pachter created this book. You would think that there wouldn't be a market for what should come through training and intuition, but too many people weren't trained at home or simply never read cultural signals.

"Business Etiquette" provides people who are lacking in one of the above or both. In nine short chapters the authors cover from why etiquette is important, to manners at meetings, social encounters, social niceties, even office equipment etiquette and more.

Success in business is defined many ways. For me, it's learning how to talk to people, and this book tells you how to talk and how to interact. Self-Assessment and exercises abound, and the words post test tells me that these two ladies are training specialists.

This is a book the energetic but socially graceless employee should acquire. If this is passed by, the next thing passing by could be the career.

After all, everything isn't about having a M.B.A.

The book arrived in good condition and in a timely manner. It isn't exactly what we were looking for but we will still benefit from it.
