Do These People Know How To Proofread?, March 12, 2006
This review is from: A+ Complete Computer-Based Training for Managing and Maintaining Your PC (CD-ROM)
I have the third edition CD version. At first, I thought it was an excellent resource. I used it, combined with A+ books to help me retain the information better. However, as I moved through the books, I began to realize, some of the questions in the test preparation portion of the CD were wrong. With some it was typos; with others, it was poorly worded questions; and with others, it was questions just answered plain wrong. I'm up to ten errors and counting, which is why I decided to write this review, because who knows how many more there are? What makes it especially difficult is that the questions come up randomly, 70 at a time, so it's not like you can just mark the question number down as bad. They can pop up at anytime. It's frustrating and disappointing when you think there are 1050 questions. Who has the patience to wade through all those and make sure they're right? Obviously not Thomson Course Technology, that's for sure. I know Thomson puts out a lot of instructional material, and some of it is probably very good, but I'd steer clear of this one until they get their act straight. Since this is the third edition with errors like this, who can predict when that will be?
