Book Description

July 1, 2008

Confident people react positively and successfully to life's problems and challenges. Those who lack confidence often view themselves as victims—blaming others or bingeing on drugs, sex, food, or alcohol to mask their feelings of shame or worthlessness.

In Complete Confidence, renowned psychotherapist Dr. Sheenah Hankin points the way to a confident life free of self-criticism, anxiety, and immature anger. Her Winning Hand of Comfort technique is a clear, concise, and powerful prescription for dealing with everyday situations—from resolving conflicts to ending unhealthy habits like overeating, complaining, and procrastinating. This essential handbook will teach you how to retrain your brain to manage your emotions and put your problems into perspective. You will learn how to calm down, clarify your thinking, challenge your blame habit, comfort your negative feelings, and achieve confidence. That is Dr. Hankin's promise.

5.0 out of 5 stars Absolutely Excellent, July 7, 2008
By

This review is from: Complete Confidence Updated Edition: A Handbook (Paperback)
Having been a huge fan of Complete Confidence the first edition, I snapped this up, too. I was not disappointed. Although there are some important enhancements, the message is the same: you can take control of the negative feelings that hold you back in life. And the revolutionary part is that Dr. Hankin actually tells you how, with concrete steps, you may do so. I really cannot begin to say how much the information in this book has helped me. I strongly recommend it.

5.0 out of 5 stars Amazingly life improving, October 24, 2009
This review is from: Complete Confidence Updated Edition: A Handbook (Paperback)
Loved this book, which is easy to read and well written. Whats powerful about it is a series of eye opening truths that enables you to look at your own behavior and make small adjustments which are liberating and make life so so much easier. My quality of life has improved dramatically after I have changed just some small things about my own behaviors. I think it should be required reading for young adults so you can avoid mistakes early on, worthwhile reading for everyone. Cannot recommend this book more, if you are going to read anything at all, read this!
