Editorial Reviews

From the Inside Flap

The potent performance machines built by Dodge and Plymouth are some of the most iconic muscle cars ever built. This lavishly illustrated work conducts readers through the fifty-plus-year history of Dodge and Plymouth performance, from the early years of the Hemi V-8 up to the newest pavement pounders emanating from Chrysler today.

The Complete Book of Dodge and Plymouth Muscle documents every muscle car to come from the Chrysler Corporation from 1960 to 1974. This generously illustrated work gives an in-depth look at the prototypes and experimental models, the anniversary and pace cars, and the specialty packages for the street and the track. Author Mike Mueller has exhaustively researched and painstakingly collected comprehensive details, specs, and photographs of each model, making this the ultimate resource on Dodge and Plymouth’s muscle cars.

From the Back Cover

This is a muscle car book like no other muscle car book. From the first Chrysler 300 to the Plymouth Road Runner to the new Dodge Challenger, Chrysler Corporation has produced some of the greatest muscle cars of all time. Heavily illustrated with beautiful photographs from author Mike Mueller and images from Chrysler’s extensive historical archive, The Complete Book of Dodge and Plymouth Muscle showcases in photos, text, and technical specifications all the models from 1960 to 1974. If Dodge or Plymouth built it, it’s here.

An exhaustive review of American high performance, from the first Hemi V-8 offered to the public in 1951 through today's reincarnated Hemi-powered Challengers, The Complete Book of Dodge and Plymouth Muscle offers an in-depth look at the prototypes and experimental models, the pace cars, and the specialty packages for street and competition driving that have made Mopar performance an automotive legend for more than half a century. With extensive details, specs, and photographic coverage, this book is the ultimate resource on America’s most revered muscle cars.

This book gives a broad insight into the vast range of mopar muscle cars built in the USA. I would have liked some information on the Australian Chargers but then again they were not strictly speaking Dodges or Plymouths. It is an interesting read although not surprisingly there is a concentration on anything with a hemi or six pack under the hood. I've not read the book in its entirety yet but have found a couple of typos and one repeated caption. Automated spell checkers are no substitute for a good proof reader. The picture of the 74 roadrunner has wound down rear windows which I think is not correct (my guess is it is a Satellite with roadrunner badges). Despite the quality control problems it is a nice 'coffee table book' which is after all what it sets out to be.

This is the best and most complete book on Dodge-Chrysler-Plymouth Muscle Cars ever written and documented by one author.

I really liked the way the chapters are organized by Make-Model and years produced

A must for any MOPAR lover.

This is a great book for all car buffs and is good for reference or just an interesting read. It is quite detailed and covers just about everything about all those famous "muscle cars" from Dodge and Plymouth (Chargers, Challengers, Road Runners, Barracudas, etc.) from 1960 to 1974. Given that this book is about just Dodge and Plymouth, it is really extensive about all models and includes tons of full color photos as well as old black and white pictures from historical archives. Each chapter gives you the history and development of each model, as well as lists of specifications and details (engines, drivetrain, suspension, etc.). This hard cover book is perfect for car fanatics and Mopar fans.
