1.0 out of 5 stars Lemmy says not to buy this... February 23, 2012
Format:Audio CD
...and, as he IS the frontman, I intend to respect his wishes.

This is the statement from the band:

MOTÖRHEAD, the hardest working, hardest touring band in the world, loves when fans buy their records, but not this time. A new box set, called Complete Early Years Box Set, has just come out by the company who has the rights to the band's early recordings, and they are charging over $600 for it!

"Unfortunately greed once again rears its yapping head," says iconic frontman Lemmy Kilmister. "I would advise against it even for the most rabid completists!"

Motörhead have no control over what's done with these early songs, and don't want fans to think that the band is involved in putting out such a costly box set.

Motörhead do have a great new record and DVD out, (CD is The Wörld Is Yours and DVD is The Wörld Is Ours-Vol 1 - Everywhere Further Than Everyplace Else), and the band hopes fans will choose these new releases over this outrageously expensive box set.

1.0 out of 5 stars Nothing to do with Motorhead..AVOID!!! February 24, 2012
Format:Audio CD
Legendary Motörhead frontman Lemmy Kilmister has come out swinging against the band's new boxset, "The Complete Early Years," over its steep price tag: $600. The set, which the band had no hand in creating, contains 16 discs, none of which contain new material. But it comes in a skull that lights up, which is totally (not) worth $600.

"Unfortunately greed once again rears its yapping head," said Kilmister in a statement on Motörhead's website, urging fans to not buy the new set. For those dedicated to owning the entire Motörhead discography, he notes: "I would advise against it even for the most rabid completists!"

The band's statement added, "Motörhead have no control over what's done with these early songs, and don't want fans to think that the band is involved in putting out such a costly box set."

Nothing more to add really.. If Lemmy says NO, he means NO!
