About the Author
Mark Hughes raced cars long before he ever began to write about them, competing in karting and Formula Ford in the 1980's. He has immersed himself in the history of the sport since childhood. Mark's considerable insight into the techniques and psychology of racing have been honed for the race track, where he has performed with distinction - including the 1994 season racing for Nigel Mansell's TVR Tuscan team. One of his lap records from 1995 still stands. He has also test-driven F1 cars for March, Arrows and Williams. He began his journalistic career at Motoring News becoming Racing Editor. In 2000 as a freelance journalist he was commissioned by Autosport to be its Grand Prix Editor at Large, and has remained so to this day.
