Not only was Sal Mineo one of the best actors around but he also recorded a smash hit album in 1957 and this release captures all those songs and 2 bonus unreleased tracks that burn up the stereo with Sal's sexy voice and also a very impressive collection of pictures in the cd's book.Sal might not have been the best singer but he still has an incredibly sexy voice and I really enjoy this album.I don't know why it sounds so much better than the previous released versions of these songs but I love the way they sound on this!!!I hope Hollywood follows by releasing more of Sal's movies on video and I am also excited about the new movie about Sal's life starring Thomas Ian Nicholas and directed by Joey Travolta! It seems Sal Mineo's star is on the rise again and he deserves it no questions asked! I highly recomend this cd!!!! 5 stars!!

I am owner of Sal Mineos "official" website. ... I was thrilled to be able to secure a promotional copy of this magificant cd before the release date, and equally thrilled to find our website mentioned in the cd's booklet!! This is the complete collection of the songs Sal Mineo recorded for the Epic label! Including his chart smash,"Start movin"(#5 on Billboard's hot 100 singles chart in 1957) The big difference here is these songs have been digitally remastered from the original mono recordings into lush, and full STEREO for the very first time ever! Even if you already own these songs, you haven't "really" heard them until you hear them in true STEREO!... Also included are 2 unreleased tracks, including the theme song for Sal's smash hit movie, "Dino"!! This collection is a MUST for any Sal Mineo fan!! And also recommended to all fans of upbeat mid 1950's bubble gum pop/rock.

Just on a whim I bought this recording to see what all the hoopla was about Sal Mineo. What a suprise! With each time listening throught the CD, I found the songs more and more enjoyable. What a rare find. Now i'm looking for all his recordings from all labels.

The sound quality is excellent--including the stereo recordings given the vintage of these sessions. My old 78s of his pale in comparison!!

If you're at all in doubt about this compilation--don't!

I am a huge Sal Mineo fan and collector. I own so many versions of his songs but this cd is by far the best! It's about time Sal Mineo's music was released in excellent stereo sound. It makes such a dramatic difference. These songs were so popular in the late 1950's when Sal Mineo was one of the hottest movie stars on the planet and I am so so so very happy this cd was released!

Sal Mineo was a great actor. I first heard his song "Start
Moving" and thought he did a good job. Overall, it is fun &
nostalgic to listen to this.

I adore this cd! Sal Mineo is my favorite actor and I have always loved his songs he did as well!This collection has the best sound quality I have ever heard of Sal's songs.Rock,pretty baby!

This CD is a must for Sal Mineo fans everywhere. The music is absolutely great en varies from slow 50's ballads and 50's rock and roll. A Great CD definitely worth your money.

WOW!! This cd rocks! The stereo remastering is awesome! Sal was so beautiful and an amazing actor and this collection on his songs including a rare theme song to "Dino" will thrill all Mineo fans old and young alike!

Of the 3 or so Mineo Comps available, this is by far the best, for sound quality, and information. If only the Decca and Fontana cuts were included, it would be perfect, but, alas this is subtitled EPIC recordings, so, I am asking too much.
If your new to Mineo's singing, don't expect a great singer. He truly wasn't. His stylings were more his strong point, and the "camp" quality will also attract some.
Songs deserving most attention: Love Affair (Sal was a rap pioneer!), Little Pigeon (fun), Make believe Baby, Young as we are (These 2 probably would have been hits, if the public didn't dismiss him.
If your interested in Sal , This is the collection to shoot for. I would have preferred the singel mix of Young. My only major gripe.
