Born in Philadelphia, R. Crumb is the author of numerous comic works and one of the pioneers of underground comics. His books include Kafka, The Complete Crumb Comics (17 volumes), The R. Crumb Sketchbook (10 volumes), R. Crumb Draws the Blues, The Book of Mr. Natural, The Book of Genesis Illustrated by R. Crumb, and many more. He lives in the south of France with his wife, the artist Aline Kominsky-Crumb.

I got this as a birthday gift last year and was really happy. I know that someone spent a lot of money on it for me and it is a very cool book. The book is not long and I had been through it within an hour. It is a nice collection of, from what I can tell, all the Fritz the Cat stuff. If it's not all the Fritz the Cat stuff, it is all his more popular mainstream stuff. The price on the cover says $2.99. Now, I know that was the price thirty years ago and things become collectible but come one. It's a flimsy paperback collection with no original material. My opinion is that you shouldn't pay these outragous prices for this book. Pick up the variou other R. Crumb collections that include Fritz the cat. You'll probably pay just about as much money and get a lot more R. Crumb content for your buck.
