The Complete Greek Cookbook contains the most comprehensive collection of Greek recipes ever published in this country with over one thousand variations of three hundred authentic recipes. They reflect a simplified modern approach to Greek cooking, step by step instructions, modified proportions of sugars, fats and oil, the use of instant foods and spices, tested short-cut methods and the use of appliances. Anecdotes and myths about the origins of these recipes makes this book fun to read and a treasure to have in the kitchen. This is a new edition of an Amazon five star classic which was revised in August 2000 that has sold over two hundred thousand copies.

Besides her accomplishment as an authority on Greek cuisine, she has received an award from the Ceramic Tile Institute of America for her ceramic tile murals which are installed in hospitals, homes and restaurants and community recognition for her crusade to save the Palm trees. --This text refers to an out of print or unavailable edition of this title.

4.0 out of 5 stars The one I use, December 9, 1997
By A Customer
I have quite a few Greek cookbooks (nearly all the standards), but this is the one I nearly always end up using. The recipes typically turn out to be just about the way my Yiayia used to make them.

5.0 out of 5 stars The best Greek Cookbook I have found!!, October 10, 2000

Marc Tokar (La Mesa, CA USA) - See all my reviews
I feel like I know the author personally after creating many of the delicious, delectable entrees. The extra attention to detail helped me create the most mouth watering salads, desserts and main courses. My fiance didn't even like greek food until I tried these recipes! Now SHE circles the items that she wants me to make and I happily oblige!! I guess the way to a girls heart is through the stomach as well!! Thanks Ms Yianilos for a wonderful addition to our recipe collection!!

5.0 out of 5 stars after twenty years, she is still the BEST, August 21, 2001
By A Customer
I started using Theresa Yianilos' cookbook so many years ago that the book's spine is now split, the pages are stained and dog-eared, and the whole book has a resinous and spicy odor. She understands Greek food, and she can get those of us who are not Greek to cook it well enough to make our mouths water. It is, simply, one of my all-time favorites.
