This review is from: The Complete Guide to Becoming an English Teacher (Paperback)
Comprehensive and "user friendly", The Complete Guide To Becoming An English Teacher is the collaborate work of Stephen Clarke, Paul Dickinson, and Jo Westbrook. Effectively organized into sections devoted to the "History, Ideologies and Values of English"; "Language, Use and Varieties"; "Readers, Writers and Texts"; "Drama and Shakespeare"; and "English Pot-16", the diverse chapters are informed and informative. Of special note is the "The Book and How to Use It: Introduction" on page one. Strongly recommended for English Department and Education Department reference collections, The Complete Guide To Becoming An English Teacher is the perfect, 479-page introduction for anyone who is considering a career in classroom education specific to the academically related fields of English and Literature.
