Spiegel started his own magazine, ran it for 10 years, then sold it for $1 million. He is also a frequesnt contributor to Home Business Magazine. Spiegel does a thorough job of walking one through the steps required to run a business from home. He suggests what to consider when choosing a business and discusses business plans, licensing, permits, zoning, taxes and insurance. He recommends various marketing media and strategies, evaluates outsourcing as a staffing option, and stresses financial management. Going beyon many similar guides, Spiegel identifies warning signs to watch for that indicate a business is in trouble and advises how to recover.
