I thought that this book was great, it is full of useful information and I now feel that a self guided trip in Alaska is in my reach.

I bought the book about 8 months before I left on a self guided moose hunt. I found any and all questions were answered in this book. I had a very good trip I returned home safe, and I had a moose in shooting range I recommend this book to anyone considering a self guided hunt in Alaska.

A well-organized book that guides you step by step for a do it yourself hunt on Alaska's rivers. It covers topics from chosing the right watercraft, instructions on how to plan and implement your float hunt, gear preparation, techniques for for hunting, field care and other comprehensive information to improve your hunt. Of all the books I've collected on hunting in Alaska (approximately 2 dozen), I'd say this book is one of the top 3. In addition, Bartlett is willing to discuss hunting in Alaska with you (without a charge) as he has taken my calls and responded to my emails on a variety of topics about hunting in Alaska.

Larry's vividly descriptive writing style and attention to detail arm you with the knowledge necessary to hunt safely and successfully in any part of Alaska.
