I met the author at a wholesale show in Florida where she was demonstrating the kumihimo product. I did purchase the large kit that included this book.
This is a very good book for beginners and it has instructions for a few different types of braids to get you started. I would like to see the author come out with an imtermediate book as well since she does give clear instructions. Hint!

She has lot of info, and patterns and gives guidelines on how the patterns will work with different colors, etc., but the book itself is not very high quality. On one page the sentence just stops (mid-sentence...), and is not continued on the next page!
In any case, I would recommend it for someone who is interested in Kumihimo on a foam disc, which is what I do. I'm not interested in the full blown kumihimo stand, because of the cost involved. I just want to make decorative braids for my various projects. The price is a little high considering the quality.

The book was alright but the instructions left a little to be desired. I helped my mom set up the loom and do her first braid and it was somewhat confusing. Also would have been nice to show more ways to finish the braids off.
