2.0 out of 5 stars Only a limited guide, October 25, 2005
This review is from: The Complete Guide to Learning a Language (Paperback)
The advice provided in this book is fairly generic and can be applied to learning any new skill. The only tip I found was to collect as many words and phrases as possible in a topic that interested me.

This book only covers learning Western European languages, such as French, Dutch or German. It does not describe how to learn other types of language, such as languages that use a different alphabet (e.g. Russian or Greek) or analytic languages (e.g. Chinese).

This book is best for someone who is thinking of learning a foreign language. Anyone who is actually studying a foreign language isn't likely to pick up many tips from this book.
