This review is from: The Complete Guide to Mental Health for Women (Paperback)
This handbook offers a woman significant,up-to-date information regarding mental health and strategies of care. I was totally shocked, however, by the lack of mention of psychiatric nurses as mental health care providers!Advanced Practice Psychiatric Nurses posess minimally a masters'degree in psychiatric nursing and are board certified by their professional association. Advanced Practice Registered Nurses (APRN, BC) practice both independently and in various health care settings, providing holistic care for individuals, couples and families in various treatment modalities. They are reimbursable by many health insurance companies. They provide psychotherapy and psychopharmacology for the treatment of mood and anxiety disorders. I feel that this group of mental health care providers provide quality care and are a major asset to the mental health team. |
