Complete Guide to Prescription and Nonprescription Drugs 2007 (Complete Guide to Prescription and Nonprescription Drugs),

This review is from: Complete Guide to Prescription and Nonprescription Drugs 2007 (Complete Guide to Prescription & Non-Prescription Drugs) (Mass Market Paperback)
I've been purchasing this book (which is updated biannually) since 2000 and have always found it to be clear and concise and written in language that can be understood by anyone. It lays out clearly any adverse reactions one may experience while taking any particular drug and how one should handle those reactions (discontinue; call doctor immediately; call doctor when convenient, etc). It also lists any additional drugs that may react adversely with the drug in question. As a reference, I would recommend this book to anyone.

Guide to Prescription and Nonprescription Drugs 2007 & More,

I have the companion book: 5th edition Complete Guide to Systems, Illness & Surgery written by H. Winter Griffith. The book is very easy to read and understand. I reply on this book as it has shown to be an excellent source of information and it is very easy to use. I like the format, and the cross referencing, etc. Mostly I like the language that Mr. Griffith uses in his books. His books are easy to understand and finding the information you need is not complicated like so many of the other books are. His style is very user friendly while still being very up to date.

If you want to know all about prescription and non prescription drugs then this is the book you need. We had a 2003 book and used it so much we almost wore out the cover. Since drugs change year after year it's important to keep updated on the newest drugs on the market. I would highly recommend this book to anyone who uses any type of prescription or non prescription drug..

Got this book to cover the dozens of medications my grandparents are taking, along with the over the counter stuff.
I needed something that was easy to use so as not to make it hard on my grandmother. This book is excellent for those that are taking the latest meds along with the over the counter standards.

Book relies on icons and bullet sentence format to describe side effects, etc...I was seeking more comprehensive information. Also did not have some drugs prescribed to family members despite being the 2007 version. Don't waste your $$ on this book! Choose another.

I have bought this book every year to help me understand the medicines I'm taking. It gives comprehensive information that the average Joe can understand. Buy it once, and you'll want the updated version every year.

The PDR Pocket Guide to Prescription Drugs lists drugs not included in the'Complete Guide'(the name's a joke -- I'm sorry I bought it) --- The AARP Guide to Pills is much better laid out and easier to research.

This is a handy reference item for prescription drugs, but I was quite dissapointed that it did not have more pictures of the pills. I have an older guide that uses colors, shapes and markings to quickly cross reference the medication by appearance. This guide works well if you know the NAME of what you are looking for, but if you are trying to find the type of medication based on a pill that is sitting in front of you it is very difficult, if not impossible with this guide.
I would not buy this guide again unless its cross reference were significantly improved. |
