Most of the things that Cassandra Eason describes are in fact a lot easier than they seem from the book. Psychic development is a personal discovery of one's own natural abilities. Thus it is unfortunate, that certain things and the techniques that the author talks about are simply not true or incomplete. In her defence, however, it has to be said that a lot of these abilities, such as clairvoyance, or astral travel, etc, are techniques that are very difficult to describe. I would say that about 80% of the techniques outlined in this book could work, whereas the remaining 20% are nonsense.

For someone, who already has certain psychic abilities that he or she is aware of, this book will probably be a disappointment. You'd be better off looking for something more specific. However, for most people who are yet unaware of their abilities or who are just interested in what is possible, this book will be very good, as the general outline is excellent. Further, this book provides some very good examples of what is possible within us.

This book should be awarded 3,5 stars out of five, since it is generally very good, but fails to deliver some consistent information. It is a very good book for beginners though

I have not read the whole book, but only the sample pages presented here. From reviewing the Table of Contents and the Index I see many of the same things covered in two years of study I had with a Psychic in the 1970's. From the sample pages the author presents the subject matter in a straightforward easy to follow manner. Working with Psychic Energy is not difficult and does produce results; however ethical practices MUST be followed: NEVER do psychic work for someone else without their permission, NEVER send any kind of negative thoughts or intention to anyone (remember the law of threefold return, whatever you send out you get back three times over).
I wish this book had been available thirty years ago, it would have saved me those two years of study and about a years worth of self study after that.

As a practising psychic medium myself, I recommend this book for beginners. It was one of the first I read on my journey, much of the content I knew, not because I had read it elsewhere but here was someone on the same wave length as me. I have now gone on to write books myself, still psychic and spiritual but albeit different to psychic development. I have a number of Cassandra Eason's books in my personal library and still dip into them

This is a good book,not the greatest. She gives you the knowledge of a witches psychic wisdom ,but not very knowledge of the psychic ablities. So book is not that bad,so don't be harsh of it.

"A Guide to Psychic Development"by Cassandra Eason is the best book on PSYCHIC POWER I`ve ever read in my present life.I`ve got a copy of its very first edition(1997)in 2000,since then my life has transformed for the better.My first psychic experiences started much earlier in the late 1980s when I started to meditate regularly,but I could not achieve to find a good psychic person,or at least a helpful book for further advice and improvement of my abilities.In "The Guide to Psychic Development" I could get the most valuable information I always longed for and I`m exceedingly grateful to Mrs. Eason for her "HELP".The exercises in the book are all quite easy to work out for everyone on her/his own personal psychic way,there is plenty of information on topics as dreams,lucidity,psychic senses,oobes,astral projection,pendulum dowsing,chakras,auras and colours,crystals,ghosts,spirit guides,reincarnation etc.The book is very,very helpful for me as I`m into crystals ( = I already own a large collection of these wonderful precious and semi-precious stones for many purposes,even a beautiful Amethyst pyramid with overwhelming energy)/Ayurveda/TCM/meditation/dreams/lucidity/astral travel/past lives/remote viewing/clairvoyance/clairaudience/psychometry/pendulum dowsing etc. and I`m living as an artist/designer(ceramical handicraft) with my lovely cats and birds in the countryside.I`m also very much convinced,that a spiritual,vegetarian life-style,just a peaceful life in the beautiful nature and - not to forget - Indian/Chinese/European classical music and - literature help and support me on my personal psychic way.By the way:The other books on PSYCHISM of Mrs. Eason are highly recommendable as well,I`ve read most of them!I wont miss "A Guide to Psychic Development" even today,after more than 10 years,although I - by now - have a large library of psychic,paranormal,metaphysical stuff in my house :-))
