I collected all the individual books in the Hammer's Slammers series. When the consolidated collection came out I bought them, too.
I enjoy the action, and the insight into the military mind-set. I also like the fact that the Slammers always win, although often at considerable cost. It is salutary to consider the collateral damage, in material destroyed, people killed and ecology harmed.
