This review is from: The Complete Herpes Handbook (Paperback)
The Complete Herpes Handbook by Robert D. Brown, MD and Gideon G. Panter, MD was one of the very first books about herpes simplex infections that was specifically targeted for the individual who suffers from the disease. Originally published in 1983, the paperback volume contains one of the most comprehensive surveys of the history of herpes as a social disease that has ever been prepared. Many more recent books on the same subject have simply condensed the information found here. The book was written by two experienced New York City physicians at a time when neither Valtrex nor Famvir had been approved. Because of this, the text is more focused on the beneficial but non-pharmacologic therapies than are more recent books dealing with the same subject.
