5.0 out of 5 stars A Must-have book for ALL!
An incredibly witty, humorous, well-written book, all on the history and how-to of kazoo playing. Barbara Stewart is a very talented, highly sophisticated author, who brings forth a delightful respite in our hectic society through the kazoo... pure genius. As well, to recently see her on Late Night with Conan O'Brien, both she and Mr. O'Brien were simply brilliant...

3.0 out of 5 stars MUSIC TO OUR EARS (JUST DON'T
We love nothing more than signing the praises of good books. And when it comes to noteworthy novelty books, those praises are usually accompanied by music. With the case of The Complete How to Kazoo, the salutatory sounds are made on a plastic version of arguably the first musical instrument invented in the United States. Don't expect to land a job with the BSO or play...

5.0 out of 5 stars A Must-Have!, September 21, 2006

What a genius behind this book! Sometimes, I laughed so hard I nearly swallowed my kazoo! Yes, I've actually been following along and developing my kazoo skills.
This book is amazing - knowledgeable and humorous, honest and tongue-in-cheek - it's wonderful.
It's ideal for adults and children, friends and family, trained musicians and rank amateurs, serious and not-so-serious music makers. The timing is perfect, too - you could develop a Halloween theme around kazoos, and there's plenty of time to stock up for holiday gifts. It's a perfect stocking-stuffer! You just HAVE to have it!

5.0 out of 5 stars A Weapon of Mass Instruction, November 28, 2006
By
Book is funny, off-the-wall, entertaining and, best of all, can teach anyone to be a musician, or at least make palatible or obnoxious noise in a few minutes. Blow, or at least hum away the classically trained musical blowhards who have scorned us plebians for centuies. This is a weapon of mass instruction. Give it to everyone on your Xmas list and get your shopping done with one pit stop. It really beats ties, socks and perfume and shopping.

We love nothing more than signing the praises of good books. And when it comes to noteworthy novelty books, those praises are usually accompanied by music. With the case of The Complete How to Kazoo, the salutatory sounds are made on a plastic version of arguably the first musical instrument invented in the United States. Don't expect to land a job with the BSO or play your way onto the stage of the Melody Tent as an opening act for, say, Tony Bennett. Simply follow the concise, easy-to-follow user's guide and practitioner's manual (complete with beginning and advanced instruction), and you'll be beating to your own drum . . . of sorts. Included with the book is a sturdy, plastic kazoo. Just out your lips together but don't blow! Sing, talk, hum . . . But keep the blowing to a sex player. That's lesson one.

I already consider myself an amateur kazooist, but I still got a lot out of this book. The history of the instrument is fascinating, and I really appreciated the sections on Rock and Jazz kazooing. It comes with a kazoo too, so you can practice as you read. I think I might just start a band! Although I'm sure kids would appreciate it as well, this is the perfect gift for co-workers, siblings, or your favorite rock star!

Bought this as a gift and the recipient was not dissapointed. The book contained more than just how to play a kazoo, it gave a little history on the product, too.
