This is a fantastic book! A friend of mine got this book for Christmas and let me borrow it. I liked it so much I have since bought my own copy and a copy for my mom. It has saved me tons of money because the ingredients in the recipes for the organic cleaners are very inexpensive. I can make a bottle of all purpose cleanser for pennies where I use to pay $4 or $5 at the grocery store. Also it has a great section on stain removal listing different types of stains and different places where the stains might be. Did you know that you can get the nasty yellow armpit stains out of white shirts?? I've been throwing away white shirts for years because of that!!! Just this week we used the recipe to make drain cleaner and now our tub is draining like a champ! Do you know how expensive Drano is??? And I made this recipe with stuff I had under my kitchen counter! The book also talks about how often you should do different cleaning chores which is helpful for me because I was using the "clean it when it looks dirty method" which was not working out so well. You must buy this book!!

I was recommended to read this book on forum where everyone was talking about the multiple uses of vinegar. Very interested in this whole topic of detoxifying my home, I borrowed it from the library to check it out and was practically glued to it all the way through. Warning: this book will change the way you view your environment. I found all the information VERY overwhelming but fantastic and I'm so glad I know about all the toxins/chemicals around me so I can now endeavour to rid my home of them and use more natural products like baking soda, vinegar etc.

This book has cleaning recipes, info on essential oils you can clean/disinfect etc with - it's really a one stop shop book with everything you need to know to make your home a safe environment for you and your children and pets. I feel like my eyes have been opened to the truth and hence a lot of throwing out has been happening as a result.

I have wavered back and forth on chemicals in things and their affect on my health over the years - recently pregnant I had to reevaluate and this book gave me all the knowledge I needed to convince me overwhelmingly that for the health of my child to be and future family this is necessary. Sadly it's come to the point that we can no longer trust big companies to make things with our health interests in mind - it's all about money and things are just not tested... well, they are I guess..... on us. I don't want to be their guinea pig anymore. I'm taking control and from now on will know what's in everything I use so I know it's safe for us.

Can't recommend this book highly enough!

The Complete Idiot's Guide to Green Cleaning, 2nd Edition, was a great asset to our library. We have become more and more aware of the need for "going green". And the funny thing is the cleaners we have tried actually work, and very well! Cleaning that shower stall with the all-purpose cleaner actually removed stains and grime that other retail manufactured cleans had left behind. Also, we were lucky to get a great deal by buying used "new". However, even at full price, this is an easy to understand, straight to the point, "recipe book" for many cleaning products. We checked it out at the library first, then decided to go to amazon.com to buy a copy to keep! Also note that we chose standard shipping. The person we bought the book from rho25, had our book on the door step in days!
