About the Author

Joe LoCicero is an author, marketing consultant, and network publicist. His column appears in the national magazine Y’ALL: The Magazine of Southern People. A hematologist/oncologist, Richard J. LoCicero, M.D., is head of the Longstreet Clinic in Gainesville, Georgia, and medical director for the community’s Premier Hospice. He has been widely published in academic journals. Ken LoCicero, Ph.D., an adjunct professor of philosophy at Georgia State University, has served as a counselor at AT&T’s employee assistance program, Atlanta Medical Center, and Charter Hospital. He now holds a leading position for one of the nation’s most respected peer-to-peer medical communications firms.

LoCicero is the creative director and co-founder, with his wife, Lori, of PRACTICAL WHIMSY, a company that celebrates family style with products, recipes, and tips for gatherings.

The Southern-bred LoCicero has worked in the entertainment industry for the past 15 years as a writer -- having written on series for NBC, FOX and Telemundo -- and marketing consultant. He also works wonders as a cake decorator, accomplished chef, creative instructor, party planner, and entertaining guru.

He and his wife champion the importance of communication, family supper, and celebrations, and have given presentations on those topics to corporations, organizations, and educational institutions including MTV, Paramount, Viacom, Turner Broadcasting,and Loyola Marymount University. His column on entertaining, PRACTICAL WHIMSY: Southern Hospitality, Hollywood Style" is a regular feature in "Y'ALL: The Magazine of Southern People." Additionally, he is the Food Contributor for momready.com. LoCicero has been featured in "Cosmopolitan," "Woman's World," several daily newspapers in the U.S. and Canada; radio outlets including Sirius' Martha Stewart Living Radio"; and network affiliate news programs.

LoCicero lives in Los Angeles, where he cooks dinner every night for his wife and their two young children. They have cake as often as possible.

We all need to think clearly and most of us need this book. Making choices and not panicking can be really tough. With too much information, we need to focus more on the process. This book helps! It will calm you down and get you back on track. And it is fun.
