5.0 out of 5 stars A Fantastic Book, July 31, 2005
By
Cathy James (Santa Cruz, Ca) - See all my reviews
This review is from: The Complete Idiot's Guide to Elves and Fairies (Paperback)
I found this to be comprehensive book with an amazing amount of information on elves and faeries. I liked that it combined modern popular culture with mythology and folk tales. I loved the section where J.R.R Tolkien gives his views on the Faerie Realm and the stories that arise from it. Also stuff on Harry Potter, Joseph Campbell, and the fairy tales of W. B. Yeats and Charles Perrault. Includes information on fairy gardens, magic, and rituals.

5.0 out of 5 stars The Perfect Resource Book About the Fae, August 11, 2005
By
Crystal Fae (Washington State) - See all my reviews
This review is from: The Complete Idiot's Guide to Elves and Fairies (Paperback)
Sirona Knight's new book is really a fine resource on the Faery. It has all the stuff you want to know about the fae including the Lord of the Rings, Harry Potter, Faery traditions, and Faery gardens. I couldn't put this book down until I finished it. The way Knight writes is really easy to understand and follow. I have this book and her other one called Faery Magick, and I really have enjoyed both of them. If you want to read a book that covers it all, and accurately, then buy this one first. Then check out her other book Faery Magick. It has lots more rituals and spells and charms, too.
