5.0 out of 5 stars If only mom had talked to you like this!, October 27, 2009

This review is from: The Complete Idiot's Guide to Finding Mr. Right (Paperback)
This is a thinking woman's guide to understanding relationships. It's one thing to find a man but finding the right man is a treasure. If I had a daughter, I would make a point of sharing these ideas with her. It's so important to know yourself and to know what you want. The trick is to recognize it when you see it, right? Yes, Mr. Right.

5.0 out of 5 stars Good for happy married couples, too!, October 29, 2009

Even though I found Mr. Right many years ago, I found that this book not only confirmed my decision, but gave suggestions on how to continue to be Mr. and Ms. Right for a long time forward. I had originally bought this book for my sister to aid her in her search that the right guy. Now I'll have to buy another one for her. I'm keeping this one!

5.0 out of 5 stars True! And will put you on the track to a happy, healthy relationship, October 27, 2009
This review is from: The Complete Idiot's Guide to Finding Mr. Right (Paperback)
I'm now on my second marriage. Had I read this book before the first, it may have been my last (or NOT my first, considering the advice in this book).

What really ring true here is several things:

1. Many of us don't know what to look for, in a relationship; and that's because we have preconceived notions of what "love" is;
2. Sometimes we sabotage ourselves, because we don't feel worthy of the love that comes our way.
3. And many of us don't spend enough time seeking out potential relationships. The authors, Martin Brown and Josie Brown, use the analogy of a work-out: if you go to the gym, your muscles will get a workout. Same thing with dating: if you make yourself available and date a variety of men, eventually you figure out what you want -- and you're more likely to find him, too.

I always love the information in their articles that appear in SingleMindedWomen dot com, because the authors tell it like it is. If you get even one thing out of this book that moves you in the right direction, then it's certainly worth the price.

5.0 out of 5 stars The Right Book, October 23, 2009
This review is from: The Complete Idiot's Guide to Finding Mr. Right (Paperback)
In the spirit of full disclosure, I'd like to state upfront that I originally approached reading "The Complete Idiot's Guide to Finding Mr. Right" as a show of support for Josie Brown and Martin Brown. I have the pleasure of working with them both at [...].

Because the Browns are such strong writers, as well as experts when it comes to relationships, I knew "Finding Mr. Right" would be a good read. But since I'm not searching for Mr. Right, I didn't think the book would be relevant. Was I wrong!

If ever there was an "every woman" book, this is it. For single women searching for Mr. Right, the book offers sage how-to advice. Meanwhile, for single women assessing past relationships, the book provides the equivalent of a road map; it shows how and why a guy who seemed like Mr. Right turned out to be Mr. Wrong.

Coupled women will also gain valuable insight from this book. The Browns provide a wealth of information about how best to nurture a relationship.

Every now and then a book comes along that you want to keep within easy reach because it will be referenced again and again. You know the kind of book: its binding is cracked, the cover curls, and the pages fan out as a result of excessive handling. The wisdom shared by Josie Brown and Martin Brown in "Finding Mr. Right" ensures this book will be one of those dog-eared paperbacks you own.

I would like to say that this was one of the best books I've ever read.
I learned a lot about things I thought I already knew. Wasn't I surprised.
It was some great reading and I could hardly put it down. I will definitely
recommend this book to everyone. I am going to purchase it for my friends for
Christmas.
