Easy to Understand and Fantastic,
By Beth Clairmont (Detroit, Michigan) - See all my reviews
This review is from: The Complete Idiot's Guide to the Law of Attraction (Paperback)
I have all the law of attraction books and this one works best for me.
Ahlquist tells the reader up front that this is no new theory. She also addresses the other books before her's and lets us know that some presentations work better for some people. Her book makes it simple and fun to understand. She talks about prayer, God, and compassion which is not in the other books very much. It is more logical than some of the others and is already working in my life. Since I read her book I have started to change my work situation around and am on the road to a new relationship. I love the book and her humor makes understanding more fun.

After being swayed by the clever marketing techniques of The Secret. I felt there was more to the Laws of Attraction but wanted a book without the distraction of layers of pyscho babble and glamor. This book is it - using terms such as "lets get down to the meat" makes reading and more important, understanding simple. Its not a glossy over-optimistic book, and as a primer is edcuational. Also there are explanations and examples of how Laws of Attraction don't work

If you're into the Law of Attraction you know you got to keep reminding yourself, always refreshing your thoughts and beliefs. I have a few books on it. I go back and forth etc...then I found this.
I decided to give it a try and it's perfect! It's an easy read, straight up, right on point!

Wow, this books is great!! I've read plenty on the "Law of attraction", but this makes it so simple. It really shouldn't be hard at all, we should all understand it, but most of us were not brought up being taught this. I sure wish I was. But this book makes it easy to understand.

I have to say I really enjoyed reading this book! She gave a lot of good examples of what happens when you put all your attention or focus on any situation, which will result in you getting what you focus on. Everything is made up of energy, so if you focus on your energy on everything that is going wrong in your life, then that is what you're going to get. If you don't like that, well change your thinking, find something to be grateful that is in your life. The more you're grateful for something. You will attract more things to be grateful for, this not an overnight thing.
It will take time. However, most people don't have the patience, persistence and determination to keep going and just give up right before their desires were going to be delivered. I could relate to some of her stories, even though some of them were made up. I liked how she talked about how if you don't like someone at work that seems to get everything, everyone likes them, or if you're angry or resentful, you're adding energy to their success. Basically, you're helping them achieve more success because of your focus of anger or resentment towards them when instead you should be focusing on your goals, desires. I highly recommend this book if you just want to get down to meat of how things work with the Law of Attraction and want steps on how attracting things in your life.

Good, Simple Explanation,

If you are interested in the Law of Attraction and what it is, this is a great book. If you read The Secret, this is a much more in-depth yet simple explanation of what is going on and how to utilize the natural laws of the universe to help you reach your full potential.
The Law of Attraction has existed in many incarnations through philosophy for thousands of years. Of course, if you don't believe in this, then this book will probably just annoy you, it probably won't convert you into a believer.

This book was a good read. I bought it because I liked "The Secret" and this book elaborated a little bit more on the subject and helped reinforce that message. Overall it was worth the time.

FAR from an Idiot,
By Miller Me (New York, USA) - See all my reviews

I think the average person would assume that the title of this book is only about how to find love or a mate. Lol, one person picked it up out of curiosity and said "ARE YOU SERIOUS?" After I explained it she understood the concept.
The complete idiots guide to the law of attraction can change your life. It's very positive and very simple. If you're privy to this kind of stuff you're enlightened and blessed. But in case you didn't know or believe it the power of your thoughts are amazing. I used to be a pessimist before I learned about this way of thinking (not talking about this book, I mean before I learned about spirituality, gratitude, cause & effect), etc... I used to think it was better to expect a negative outcome when you wanted something, that way if the outcome was negative, you wouldn't be disappointed. I was completely unaware of the benefits of thinking positively. It arrived in excellent like new condition.

I discovered the theroy of the Law of Attraction [The Complete Idiot's Guide to the Law of Attraction by Diane Ahlquist] in The Secret. Though many authors have written on this subject, each have given us their own version, yet they remained united. This guide provides insights not ordinarily shared in conversation, a guide book to be reviewed again and again.

I believe the "Complete Idiot's Guide" series has finally found the title that renders the series designation utterly irrelevant. The "Law of Attraction" is the apogee of contemporary idiocy. Its claims to being "scientific" are rooted entirely in vague gestures toward "quantum physics," a concept deployed here with as much specificity and scientific integrity as if they'd simply claimed the universe is based on "flubber."
I apologize to potential readers of this "Complete Idiot's Guide" book who don't understand the big words. But hey: think hard enough, and eventually you'll understand them. |
